2025 Progress Report
Over the past year, JHU has made major strides in advancing our institutional sustainability efforts, including the endorsement of a new strategic framework—the Climate Action and Sustainability Plan (CASP)—and the establishment of a governance charter and Climate and Sustainability Executive Committee to oversee progress.
The 2025 Progress Report features campus highlights and measurable progress towards the goals and objectives in the plan spanning JHU’s academic mission, operations, and community engagement. Highlights cover a range of activities and data focuses on JHU’s performance during the 2024 calendar year for which data is most recently available.
Following this year’s report, the Office of Climate and Sustainability will publish a 2026 report highlighting the first full year of progress towards the university’s CASP goals including additional metrics to quantify progress towards our commitments.

Johns Hopkins adopted a university-wide Climate Action & Sustainability Plan in fall 2024, which leverages the university’s unique multidisciplinary expertise to create an ambitious and holistic vision for a healthy, just, and sustainable future.
The Plan outlines a series of short- and long-term strategic goals, objectives, and actions in areas including Research, Teaching, & Scholarship; Climate Action; Built & Natural Environments; Responsible Consumption; and Transportation & Mobility.
