Learn what you can do at JHU to help us reach the goals of the university’s Climate Action & Sustainability Plan aimed at reducing our environmental impact and creating scalable solutions at all levels, from properly sorting waste to planning green events to reducing emissions from travel.
Spread the Word
Consider hosting a book club, watch party, or talk to share what you learn with your friends, family, and community.
Post on social media and spread the word about the need to take action!
Advocate for a More Sustainable World
Contact your local representatives to talk to them about the issues that matter most to you (whether that’s plastic pollution, renewable energy, environmental justice, or habitat conservation), and ask them to take action.
On a more local scale, try reaching out to your grocery stores, restaurants and cafes, faith communities, clubs, and other groups to encourage them to reduce single-use items. If you find yourself a position of leadership, whether in your workplace, student organization, or external club or community, you can help to drive the conversation around reducing waste and shifting to more sustainable practices at all levels. Every bit helps!
