Weed Warriors 201b: Project Planning & Leadership Continued
May 31 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm
Weed Warriors help the Department of Recreation and Parks manage Non-Native Invasive (NNI) plants which are harmful to trees and forest patches. Certified Weed Warriors are community members, like you, trained as environmental stewards by TreeBaltimore!
Weed Warriors 201b: Project Planning & Leadership Continued is the fourth and final class in our certification series. In this session, we will go over how to coordinate a Weed Warriors volunteer day, including identifying work sites, targeting your methods for the non-native invasive plants present, and leading a safe and successful event.
The 201b class is the fourth in a four-part series to certify Weed Warriors to independently remove invasive plants from Baltimore City parks and forested natural areas; in order to become fully certified, you will need to attend all four classes and to participate in a volunteer event led by a Certified Weed Warrior. The certification class series can be taken across multiple seasons, and in any order.
