Weed Warriors 201a: Project Planning & Leadership

Weed Warriors help the Department of Recreation and Parks manage Non-Native Invasive (NNI) plants which are harmful to trees and forest patches. Certified Weed Warriors are community members, like you, trained as environmental stewards by TreeBaltimore!

In Weed Warriors 201a: Project Planning & Leadership, we’ll review some of the non-native invasive plants we’ve learned already, and discuss essential tools and best management practices for NNI plant control. 

The 201a class is the third in a four-part series to certify Weed Warriors to independently remove invasive plants from Baltimore City parks and forested natural areas; order to become fully certified, you will need to attend all four classes and to participate in a volunteer event led by a Certified Weed Warrior. The certification class series can be taken across multiple seasons, and in any order.
