TreeKeepers is TreeBaltimore’s free, city-wide tree stewardship program, open to anyone interested in Baltimore’s trees, age 15 and up. Through this series of classes, residents learn how to plant and care for street trees and trees around their schools and in their parks. The program also builds a community of people who care about Baltimore City’s trees and who want to help care for and advocate for our tree canopy.

An overview of the scientific naming (botanical nomenclature) of trees. The class will review the background and history of botanical nomenclature, how it works, some tips to make it easier. We will go over examples, discuss practical applications and provide additional resources.
