SUMMARY:Rare Air: Endangered Birds\, Bats\, Butterflies\, & Bees
DESCRIPTION:Evergreen’s new exhibition celebrates the art of contemporary designer and illustrator Sarah Kaizar (b. 1983)\, whose biologically accurate pen-and-ink portraits of winged species help to draw attention to threatened and endangered animals in North America. In pairing Kaizar’s bold and lively works with rare books and decorative arts from Evergreen’s collections\, the exhibition continues the legacy of John Work Garrett of Evergreen\, a life-long bird enthusiast\, collector\, and amateur naturalist and reinforces the ancient\, mysterious\, and profound links between humans and birds\, bats\, butterflies\, and bees.

SUMMARY:Outfall Screening Blitz
DESCRIPTION:Learn about water quality testing with the scientists of Blue Water Baltimore! An Outfall Screening Blitz consists of taking teams of volunteers into our local streams to sample water quality. The events take place 48 hours after a major rain event to ensure stormwater is not being sampled. Samples will be collected from streams being monitored where dry weather flow is coming from a stormwater outfall. We will discuss different types of pollution\, how it is entering our waterways and steps you can take to help report and prevent pollution from happening. This is a limited capacity event. \nPLEASE NOTE: Due to the limited number of spaces for this event\, registration will not open until the week before the event.
