This class is for learners who identify as Women, Trans, or Non-binary. Any other identities are invited to take Tools + Skills during a non protected-space class.
This class prepares you to confidently use the tools in our wood shop and library for basic construction, repair, renovation, and artistic projects.
You will learn:
- When and how to use drills, impact drivers, and hammer-drills effectively. Get hands-on practice drilling into wood, drywall and masonry.
- How to use different types of anchors to securely hang objects on a wall.
- When and how to use a jigsaw and circular saw
- Learn safe use of the miter saw
- Learn how to use air compressors and pneumatic nailers.
- How to identify and effectively use different types of hardware (screws, nails, etc) in a project.
