International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL) National Capital Chapter

International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL) National Capital Chapter is thrilled to host this year’s flagship program in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University at the Hopkins Bloomberg Center in downtown Washington, D.C.

In 2024, Johns Hopkins University adopted its Climate Action and Sustainability Plan, leveraging the university’s unique multidisciplinary expertise to create an ambitious and holistic vision for a healthy, just, and sustainable future. This panel, composed of sustainability and facilities staff at JHU, will discuss some of the practices, policies, and initiatives leading JHU towards a sustainable future. Topics covered will include JHU’s High Performance and Healthy Building Requirements, lab ventilation optimization, ultra-low temperature freezers, and Green Labs programs.
