Learn to naturally dye silk + cotton handkerchiefs using 2 methods of natural dyeing: bundle dying + dip dyeing! Using a variety of dried flowers, roots, bark, and even bugs, students will print natural materials onto silk by rolling, tying, and steaming bundles of their own design. While their bundles are steaming, students will learn about the process of dip dyeing and how to create patterns with methods of folding.
Students will leave the class with 2 customized accessories as well as knowledge, resources, and excitement to explore the world of natural dyes!
