Led by Nate Kleinman of Ujamaa Cooperative Farming Alliance and Experimental Farm Network, this hands-on workshop will cover the basics of harvesting and processing seeds for a variety of common (and uncommon) crops, with a focus on garden vegetables. Some grains, herbs, flowers, and medicinals may also be discussed.
Participants will engage with various methods of cleaning seeds in preparation for sale or personal use, no prior experience necessary. Long-term storage techniques will also be covered. We encourage you to bring your own seeds for help processing! You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with members of the Baltimore Seed Commons, a local seed library.
