Gateways 2026, the annual conference of the science gateways community, brings together the researchers, engineers, educators, and federal program officers who build and fund the computational platforms—called science gateways—that make large-scale research accessible across disciplines.
Science gateways are web-based portals that connect domain scientists to high-performance computing clusters, large datasets, and specialized instruments without requiring them to manage the underlying infrastructure. Deployed in fields from genomics and oceanography to digital humanities and public health, they are a critical—and often invisible—layer of modern research infrastructure.
