What’s brownish-green and grows all over (the Mid-Atlantic, at least)? Pawpaws! Pawpaw trees are the largest edible fruit trees native to North America, producing unique, tropical-tasting fruit that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. Join TreeBaltimore at the Central Library to learn more about this underappreciated Maryland delicacy. We’ll share tips for preparing and sourcing pawpaws in Baltimore City and beyond and sample fruit.
TreeBaltimore is a mayoral initiative led by Baltimore City Recreation and Parks to increase the City’s tree canopy to 40%. It also serves as the umbrella organization for City agencies, private organizations and individual tree stewards involved in that effort.
