JHU students, faculty, and staff are invited to submit proposals for the 6th Annual Sustainability Leadership Council Symposium, which will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Submissions can include individual presentations, full sessions, research posters, or informational tables focused on sustainability research, practice, or education at JHU.

Submissions are due by January 24, 2025All sustainability-related topics and ideas are welcome and encouraged! Examples of previous symposium topics and abstracts can be referenced in the 2024 Symposium Program.

Call for Submissions

JHU researchers, faculty, staff, and students are invited to submit proposals. See below for descriptions of the types of submission opportunities.

Submission Opportunities

Individual Presentations

Presentations proposals can be submitted by individual speakers. Presentations should be no longer than 10 minutes and will be grouped into a session with other similar-themed topics. Each session will include time for for Q&A from the audience.

Full Sessions

Sessions are either 50- or 75-minute blocks. Session organizers can plan for a series of speakers, a panel discussion, a workshop, or other session content types. All sessions should include time for audience Q&A. If selected, all details must be finalized by March.

Research Posters

Sustainability research posters will be displayed throughout the symposium. Time dedicated to research poster sessions will be built into the program. Reusing posters already printed for other events is allowable.

Informational Tabling

JHU groups, programs, centers, institutes and departments are invited to propose informational tables at the Symposium. Groups should plan for representatives from the organization to be present to talk to attendees during the lunch and afternoon breaks.
