With the turn of the new year, it’s time for some lab cleanouts – and we want your lab clutter!
- Are you in need of a small amount of lab supplies or have you run into supply chain delays or funding issues? – SHOP DONATIONS AT THE LAB SUPPLY SWAP!
- Do you have unexpired, clean/unused, usable lab supplies that you no longer need? – DONATE THEM TO THE LAB SUPPLY SWAP!

Participate in the Lab Supply Swap
- WHEN: Tuesday, February 10, 2026, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- WHERE: PreClinical Teaching Building (PCTB) 2nd Floor, Suite 211 – Fisher Center
You do not need to have donated in order to pick up items at the 2/10 supply swap! Just bring a box, bag, cart, and/or friend. All faculty, staff, fellows, and students working in a JH lab are welcome to stop by the supply swap to pick up items; no one in search of supplies will be turned away.
Donate Items to the Lab Supply Swap
- WHEN – January 12 through February 5, open 24 hours/day
- WHERE: Please leave items in the marked locations below in PCTB or CRB1. Be sure to complete a drop-off form!
- PreClinical Teaching Building (PCTB) 2nd Floor, Suite 211 – Fisher Center
- CRB1, Floor 3M, Area 51 (south elevator block)
What we are looking for:
- Clean and Usable General Consumable Lab Supplies
- Glassware, plasticware, gloves, lab notebooks, Etc.
- Before donating, items should be cleaned with a detergent solution, 10% bleach solution, or another appropriate cleaner dependent upon the type of contamination
- Unused and Unexpired Biospecimen Collection Supplies and test kits
- Blood collection tubes, urine collection cups, alcohol swabs, Band-Aids, sealed gauze pads, tourniquets, CSF collection kits, DNA collection kits, saliva collection kits, dipstick pregnancy tests, toxicology screen tests, etc.
- Clean and Usable Biospecimen Processing Supplies
- Pipettes, centrifuge and tube racks, cryovials, etc.
- Biospecimen Shipping Materials
- Styrofoam boxes, cardboard boxes, biospecimen Ziploc bags, packaging materials, etc.
- Field Supplies
Things we do NOT accept:
- Expired items
- Broken items
- Unsealed previously sterile items
- Contaminated/dirty items
- Hazardous materials
- Radioactive materials
- Furniture
- Computer and computer supplies
YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE DONATED TO PICK UP ITEMS AT THE LAB SUPPLY SWAP.
